The HARIO Fretta, Cold Coffee
The summer here in New Zealand is well underway. A few rough patches have come and gone but that’s nothing new in this part of the world. One of the beauties of the warm days is drinking cold beverages while soaking up the sun.
Japanese glassware company HARIO produce some great products for not only brewing hot coffee but ice cold as well. The Fretta is one that we have grown quite fond of as it produces a beautifully refreshing cold coffee. Brew something lightly roasted, bright and fruity – like our new Balinese Kintamani, Ethiopian Harrar, or the Costa Rican Don Jose – and it really highlights the sweet subtleties the coffee has to offer. The Fretta uses a similar V60 cone filter like the ceramic version, except the brewed coffee filters down over a cylinder packed with ice. The water used to brew is hot like conventional pour over methods but the end result is an icy cold jug of coffee.
Our Ethiopian Harrar is available through our online store and as is the Balinese Kintamani, while the Costa Rican Don Jose is only available through Customs in Wellington and Douglas St, Auckland. Also while the weather remains warm Customs will also be serving Frettas over the counter.
For the rest of January and the month of February we will be offering a 20% off on both the HARIO V60 Fretta and Cold Drip tower.
