Customs is our Wellington flagship coffee shop. Situated on a sunny spot on Ghuznee Street, Customs is the go to for anyone after a great cup of coffee, slice of toast or doughnut.

After years of doing this kinda thing, we’ve learnt that coffee quality shouldn’t come at the expense of approachability and service - it should be fun, engaging and honest. We have always believed hospitality and generosity form the backbone of any good coffee experience and we’re after a talented person who feels the same way.

We want to give you the opportunity to help contribute to an iconic cafe in the heart of Wellington’s street, to learn as much as you can and to be a part of New Zealand’s leading coffee roaster.

Some of the main duties are:
  • Greeting and serving customers.
  • Producing espresso and brewed coffee to the highest standards, using Supreme's approved techniques.
  • Providing expert assistance and advice to customers purchasing beans and equipment.
  • Taking orders and using the POS system.
  • Preparing and plating simple food.
  • Delivering food and coffee to customers.
  • Clearing tables, washing dishes and other cafe tasks.
  • Contributing to developing our offer.
The successful applicant will:
  • Have a sound existing knowledge base of specialty coffee, processing methods and brewing methods and be eager to build upon this.
  • Have 2+ years experience as a barista.
  • Have a genuine love for hospitality - we’d love to hear what this means to you

Coffee Supreme Welles Street is our newly reopened Christchurch flagship. After closing our beloved Supreme Supreme in late 2018, we went back to the drawing board.

We see Welles Street as a hub for the CBD - a place for everyone to get together and have a great cup of coffee and a sandwich - and hey, maybe a cinnamon bun too. We boast great year-round sun, a great location, a big courtyard to perch up on a stool, and the best neighbours.

The right person will be responsible for the smooth operation of Coffee Supreme Welles Street and leading the team to deliver our Supreme Experience. You’ll be expected to build and maintain a beloved hospitality site, to challenge your team to meet financial targets, and represent Coffee Supreme’s high standards of service and quality.

Ideally, we’re looking for someone to operate Coffee Supreme Welles Street as if it were their own business. That means there will be weekend shifts, early mornings and the odd late night - the wellbeing of the team and the space is your responsibility.


Some of the main duties are:
  • Leading, coaching and managing the team.
  • Recruiting and training staff.
  • Rostering for the cafe and potential events.
  • Engaging with point of sale systems analytically to grow the business.
  • Striving to do things better.
  • Reviewing and maintaining processes to ensure that Coffee Supreme Welles Street is performing as a healthy business.
  • Ensuring the coffee offer is delicious, relevant and approachable.
  • Complying with health & safety, food safety and local council requirements.
  • Ensuring the site and equipment are maintained to the highest level.

Shop Assistant
Midland Park, Wellington

Our Midland Park retail store is the face of Coffee Supreme to our customers who love to make great coffee at home. Customers are able to come to us for their weekly beans, a range of espresso and filter brewing equipment, and a cup of our tasty filter or espresso to take away. We also use the space to run regular cupping and education sessions. We pride ourselves on Midland Park being an approachable space where people can come in and grow their love of coffee. In addition to this, we run the admin for online accounts and orders from the space.

We're on the lookout for a retail coffee specialist to work with our team, delivering expert coffee knowledge and a Supreme experience to our loyal retail customers. There are some big shoes to fill, so a positive attitude, a sunny personality and quality bantz are a must.

This is a part-time position, around 16 hours per week, working on Mondays and Fridays. The hours of work would fall in our operating hours, which are 8.00am to 5.00pm. A full job description is available upon request.
Some of the main duties are:
  • Produce delicious espresso and soft brew coffee for customers.
  • Pack, grind and assemble coffee orders for customers, and process transactions using Vend.
  • Keep up to date with our coffees and products.
  • Work with teammates to keep the store clean, tidy and looking great.
  • Inform managers of stock that needs ordering.
  • Process payments, carry out end of day cash ups and banking.
  • Work with team to update shop displays to keep the store looking fresh and enhance sales.
  • Adhere to council and national requirements for Food Safety and Health & Safety.
The successful applicant will:

Coffee Supreme Welles Street wants to be everyone’s favourite place to drink coffee, and have a bite to eat. We are a relaxed, friendly coffee shop with a small, concise and delicious short order menu - everyone likes a bacon buttie right?

We are looking for the right person to lead our team to deliver our simple take on some classics. There will be a bit of baking, lots of short order cooking and a heap of organising. We’re after a great communicator, and you’ll need to be great at motivating a team, too.

This is a great opportunity for a young cook to get involved in an exciting new cafe and be a part of a great coffee company. We aren’t looking for the most experienced cook in Christchurch but an energetic, excited person who loves food and has a bunch of ideas to share.
Some of the main duties are:
  • Leading and managing the kitchen team.
  • Ensure menu items are executed to a high standard and delivered within the expected timeframe.
  • Provide food costings.
  • Meet requirements for food safety and health and safety.
