Exciting times, we're opening up a new hospitality site in the 09!

We've recently shifted to a new premises at 376 Great North Road and we have a load of space that's just perfect for putting in a cafe to showcase our coffee, hospitality, and some damn delicious eats.

We're in the early stages of designing and building the space, and we're ready to bring on a couple of key people to help us drive this project forward.

We need an experienced chef to help us with setting up and then running the food side of the business.
Some of the main duties are:
  • Gain an understanding of the strategic and creative direction for the café’s food offering, and develop a menu that fits the strategy and is practical to produce.
  • Provide food costings.
  • Kitchen layout and setup.
  • Work with contractors on the build.
  • Source equipment and suppliers.
  • Recruit and build a team.
  • Lead and manage the kitchen team.
  • Ensure menu items are executed to a high standard and delivered within the expected timeframe.
  • Organise weekly rosters.
  • Meet requirements for food safety and health and safety.
  • Communicate regularly with the Cafe Manager and other team members to ensure a smooth service to our customers.

The successful applicant will:
  • Be able to lead, motivate, manage performance and provide ongoing training and upskilling to the kitchen team.
  • Have proven cooking experience in a high volume cafe.
  • Have the ability to work calmly and well under pressure in an organised manner.
  • Be able to establish systems and procedure to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Have a proven history of working with food costings and wastage controls, and ability to understand and base decisions on financial information.
  • Have a good understanding of food hygiene, HACCP and has a solid understanding of safe food practices.
  • Have effective communications and positive interactions with other team members.
  • Behave in a way that is friendly and inclusive to all team members.
  • Have a positive attitude and be willing to help out where required.

  • Reviewing our processes and implementing plans to lift efficiency and maximise profit retention.
  • Working with our marketing team on a strategy to develop the business.
  • Working with our roasting and quality assurance manager to ensure our coffee offer is consistently top notch.
  • Ensuring the site and equipment are maintained, and that we meet compliance for health & safety, food safety and local council requirements.

Customer Care Administrator

Our office based customer care team provides a welcoming entry point for callers to Supreme, and is the main point of contact for customers, suppliers and other visitors. They also handle all administrative functions for Coffee Supreme.

We're looking for an energetic positive person who genuinely loves helping people to join the team in a Customer Care Administrator role. This would suit someone who is from the hospitality industry and wants to learn more about coffee supply from the other side. Strong computer skills, particularly in Google Apps, Word and Excel, attention to detail and the abilities to multitask and be proactive are essential to this role.

Examples of duties range from answering the phone and helping customers with orders, training enquiries and technical problems, through to chipping in with emptying the dishwasher and filling the fruit bowl.

This position is part time Monday to Wednesday, with the potential of going full time for the right person as the business grows.
Some of the main duties are:
  • Answering the phone and helping customers with their queries.
  • Entering orders into our system for despatch.
  • Liaising with couriers to follow up missing or delayed orders.
  • Actioning requests for machine servicing and training.
  • General admin tasks, such as preparing reports, maintaining files etc.
  • Contributing to keeping our shared spaces looking good.
  • Welcoming and assisting any customer, supplier or any other visitors to the roastery.
  • Assisting with any events we run.
  • Assisting the Office Manager with any other tasks as required.
  • Assisting with packing wholesale and retail orders and delivery runs as required
  • Ad hoc duties as required.
The successful applicant will:
  • Have a genuine love for helping people and making them feel welcome.
  • Have great communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Have first-rate attention to detail.
  • Be super organised and work to deadlines.
