AeroPress Championships 2018 - Hosted by Coffee Supreme
WRITTEN BY Coffee Supreme
06 June 2018

We are at the starting line of the down-under season of the World AeroPress Championship. Whether you’re in it to win it or an official bleacher-warming-supportive mate, WAC hosted by Coffee Supreme is back and better than ever.

WAC began in Oslo, as the brainchild of one of the industry’s biggest characters and a few coffee-minded friends sitting around in his coffee shop back in 2008. It’s now a highly-regarded international competition in its own right and holds a fiercely independent place on the global coffee calendar.

2018 sees Coffee Supreme hosting four of WAC’s competitions, a tour even, throughout Australasia as competitors get amongst the sprint to Sydney for the World Champs in November. Christchurch, Wellington and Victoria will all host Regional competitions. Followed by the Auckland Regionals and NZ Nationals which will be held in Auckland on the same evening.

On the night, rounds of competitors take the plunge to try and extract the best cups they can from the AeroPress, a modest and accessible brewing device. You don’t have to be a barista, or even work in coffee to enter. AeroPress is for everyone. You can also come along, keep the bleachers warm and support competing mates while drinking some beer and watching some hard out brewing.

We’ll be releasing further competition information and ticket releases as the season progresses. Follow our Instagram account @coffeesupremeaeropress to stay in the loop.
