In 2012 Mike and Joe (Six Barrel Soda Co.) took their love for classic sodas and soda fountain culture and opened Six Barrel Soda Co. The idea was inspired by the desire to serve non-alcoholic beverages that matched the quality of the rest of their offering, at their bar they owned at the time. Four years later and Six Barrel sodas are stocked and served in cafes, bars and restaurants across New Zealand and Australia.
We thought, who better to make a product with. After a number of test batches with different coffees and ratios, we landed on our production recipe. We select a delicious single origin coffee, which Joe and his team of soda makers brew into a concentrated soda syrup using only water and organic cane sugar. Each bottle has then been labelled and dipped with a wax seal.
The syrup makes easy summer drinking by simply adding 1 part syrup to 5 parts cold milk or sparkling water. We’re sure it will mix well combined with other ingredients and substituted for espresso in cocktail recipes.
